Who we can help

As our method is based on the regenerative and adaptive capabilities of the brain, it can benefit anyone who, because of their individual structure to date and their learned and repeated habits, has acquired problems which could be related to a broad range of disorders on a physical, mental and cognitive level.

Some examples include conditions of chronic pain, which may be related to any type of injury or surgical procedure, medical problems, such as rheumatological or neurological conditions and strokes that lead to loss of mobility, and cases of repetitive strain injury due either to a lack of awareness or to incorrect repetition of specific movements. The latter category includes athletes and dancers, who can greatly benefit by improving their performance and preventing injury.

It is known that the limited movement patterns are imprinted in the cerebral cortex and other regions of the brain and are directly related to the appearance of behavioural, learning, mental and cognitive health problems which, in turn, reinforce and perpetuate the specific physicality. In this case, we deal with issues such as anxiety disorders, depression, anger, insomnia, emotional trauma and related dysfunction, learning difficulties, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and developmental coordination disorder (DCD).

The Feldenkrais® Method also addresses the treatment of psychological trauma for the purpose of cultivating security, physical activity and freedom.

Lastly, it is noteworthy that, for Dr Moshé Feldenkrais, the motor function is integrally linked to the higher functions of humans; not just those which require the use of the body anyway (e.g. painting, singing, etc.), but others as well, such as the faculty of thought, sensation, memory and recall. Working systematically and consciously with the Feldenkrais® Method opens up a whole new inner world full of unlimited potential.
